Lessons from the Pandemic for Teaching Business

Abstract

This paper sets out a number of ideas and hypotheses concerning the lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic for business schools. In particular, it proposes that the curricula of business and management schools include reflection and training on five topics: i) the revaluation of the public sphere; ii) the vindication of labor over capital; iii) training in the social and solidarity economy; iv) reflection on data extractivism and surveillance capitalism; and v) reflection on the capitalist model of development and zoonotic diseases.
